Hilda Impey

Co-Founder and Creative Director, Hilda Impey Studio

Co-founder and Creative Director of this “haute couture” ensemble, Hilda is known within the world of interiors and in hospitality for her exacting standards and her inspired approach. Impey’s unique approach towards the art and artistry of design has created a genuinely new outlook in this field, and it is what makes her a leader in this industry. Hilda Impey has been named as one of the region’s most significant design thinkers.

Mentored at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design by prominent academics in the design field, such as Carole Collet, and Sharon Baurley, Hilda’s style and method are now part of her studio’s DNA. She is an ambassador for disobedient and disruptive design, constantly searching for regenerative ideas in the interior design field.

One of the key roles of Studio Impey is to ask questions of the landscape, the locale, the people, their histories, and their fables, to produce new conversations and new histories. This process of uncovering and (re)generating, informs Studio Impey as they and their communities create hope through heritage.

Having embarked on this process of exposing these hidden histories, Studio Impey is in the enviable position of being able to drive an exceptional interior design ethos. This practice lies behind the interiors of the many worldwide hospitality giants that the founder, Hilda Impey, has shaped for the last 20 years. The spirit of her haute couture studio is to listen, understand, and above all, craft meaningful design experiences.
