General Manager, The Berkeley & The Emory

Knut is a well-respected hotelier with a career spanning the globe from Europe to the Caribbean, the Middle East and Asia within the luxury sector. Knut was appointed General Manager of The Berkeley in January 2016 and more recently, has also become the General Manager of The Emory, opening winter 2023, in addition to his role at The Berkeley. Prior to this, Knut was Hotel Manager at Claridge’s and previously worked at some of the most iconic London properties such as The Lanesborough and The Savoy. Additionally, he has held senior roles with One&Only, Rosewood and the Dorchester Collection as well as Loch Lomond Golf Club in Scotland. With this wealth of experience and his commitment to the hospitality industry, Knut brings an energetic, fresh and innovative approach to hotel management as well as a true understanding of luxury in both product and service.

Knut sits on the Board of Governors of The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, is a member of the Standards Advisory Board of Forbes Travel Guide, a Trustee of the Gold Service Scholarship and was appointed a Master Innholder in 2020.

Born on the coast of the Baltic Sea in northern Germany, Knut graduated from Hotel & Tourism Management before completing his apprenticeship at the legendary Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg.
