
Sandra Cardona
SVP of Hotel Development and Construction, Turnberry Associates
Sandra Cardona is the SVP of Hotel Development and Construction for Turnberry Associates. She joined Turnberry in 2022 and is responsible for overseeing Turnberry’s hospitality development & repositioning pipeline for several luxury branded and independent hotel and mixed-use projects.
Prior to joining Turnberry, Ms Cardona led the Development and Capital Planning team for Hersha Hospitality Trust, a self-advised Hotel REIT where she played a key role in the company’s portfolio growth from mid-upper-midscale to luxury and lifestyle sector by overseeing new development, repositioning, and complex renovation projects exceeding $800MM in total project costs.
In 2018 and 2019 Sandra was selected by Bisnow as one of South Florida’s Power Women in Commercial Real Estate for her leadership in overseeing over $80MM in South Florida-based projects. Kayo recently honoured her as Top 23 in ’23: Miami Women in Real Estate.
Sandra began her training as an architect for NYC firm William B. Tabler Architects on numerous landmark and NYC mixed-use hotel projects. Under Gene Kaufman Architect and Richardson Sadeki Design Group, she continued to develop her expertise on hotel, luxury residential and spa projects. In 2011 Sandra shifted to client representation as an opportunity to leverage her background and gain exposure on the developer side.
Sandra earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, a Certificate of Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investment from MIT School of Architecture & Planning and an EMBA from Quantic School of Business & Technology.
A proponent of social initiatives, Sandra has been an Advisor to United Clergy Task Force (UCTF) since 2015 on all real estate development-related issues such as site evaluation, programming, affordable housing, and community revitalization.
In addition to her commitment to the real estate development industry, Sandra is also a contemporary artist and a student of Krav Maga and Jui-Jitsu.
