Global Vice President of Product and Brand Development, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts
Sarah Klymson is a creative solution seeker, focused on how design can be used to create meaningful connections with consumers. With over 20 years of international experience, Sarah combines her background in interior design, architecture, and expertise in wellbeing practices to create solutions that propel brands forward and enhance the role design can play within an organisation.
Sarah’s current role is with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, as the Global Vice President of Product and Brand Development. In this role, Sarah focuses on developing uniquely branded experiences through design, as well as the creation of new products within Hyatt’s portfolio. Sarah is also responsible for conceiving and leading Hyatt’s integration of wellbeing-based design practices into Hyatt’s design approach across all brands. These wellbeing-based design practices emphasise the impact that physical space can have on one’s wellbeing and consider design as a tool to capture how to authentically create an experience focused on one’s wellbeing.
During her time at Hyatt, Sarah has also overseen the Design Services Studio in the American region, responsible for implementing the brand tenants on all new hotel construction, conversion, and renovation projects.
Sarah’s range of experience includes starting her career at a boutique design firm with a focus on high-end residential to working at larger firms, such as Gensler Chicago, where she was responsible for re-concepting corporate interior spaces for brands like Goodyear and Kohler as a means to challenge their working dynamic. Rethinking how the design of their spaces could change and support their culture as an organisation.
Sarah took this understanding of brand integration into her role working for McDonald’s as the lead architect of the Global Concept & Design team. As the lead architect, she was responsible for overseeing the future direction of the brand from an architecture and design standpoint as well as working with the regional teams on the implementation of new concepts.
Sarah holds both a Bachelor’s degree in interior design and a Master in Architecture. Allowing her a unique perspective into the design industry. She is also working to complete her EMBA at Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management, expected to graduate in May of 2025. She is also a registered architect and a LEED-Accredited professional.
